Verizon Unit to Use Yahoo Electronic Receipts for Marketing

Oath, which is a new unit resulting from Verizon combining AOL and Yahoo, is culling data from electronic receipts to create customized marketing campaigns. So reports AdAge.

Yahoo users, however, can opt out of having Oath use the emailed receipts for marketing purposes. Some retailers, such as Amazon, send customers links to online receipts rather than including the actual receipts in emails.
