Starbucks' China Strategy Relies on e-Commerce Giant

Coffeehouse chain Starbucks will partner with the Alibaba Group to help boost its business in China. So reports Marketing Interactive.

A formal announcement has not yet been made, but is expected soon. The Wall Street Journal reported the impending arrangement.

Starbucks sales in China declined 2% for the period ending on July 1, a sharp slump compared to the 7% growth it saw last year during the same period. The company is facing strong competition from rival Luckin, which could be part of the reason for the decline in sales.
