Japanese taxis now are using scanners to determine riders’ age and gender to target ads. So reports Futurism.

The technology was put in the spotlight after a Google privacy engineer posted a photo on social media explaining the new system. E-commerce platform developer DeNA Co Ltd. developed the Premium Taxi Vision program used in the cabs. Advertising agency Geniee, Inc. sends a “relevant advertisement” after getting the data.
