Watchdog Sues Google Over Location Tracking Used to Boost Ad Revenue

Critics, and an Australian watchdog organization, are calling out Google’s reported plan to drive ad revenue by tracking user’s location even after tracking settings appear muted. So reports The New York Post.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is suing Google after claiming the tech company misled Android users regarding its location tracking practices. The lawsuit is said to be the first of its kind. Proceedings have begun in the Federal Court of Australia.
