Online Advocacy May Violate Campaign Finance Laws

Facebook pages and other online destinations created to support political candidates may be crossing a fine line between advocacy and campaigning, which raises the following question: Is political content and money spent to promote webpages a violation of campaign finance law? So asks Vice News.

In one instance a Trump supporter paid Facebook more than $34,100 to promote his websites that supported the president and have generated more than 1.7 million likes.
