PayPay CMO Out Amid Simplification Push

Allison Johnson, PayPal’s CMO, left the company recently amid its push to simplify its global marketing group. She was in the role less than a year and a half. So reports Business Insider.

paypal 3384015 640Johnson previously had a top marketing role at Apple, reporting directly to Steve Jobs.

Anonymous sources quoted in the article, say that when Johnson arrived at the firm she conducted a “clean sweep” of the marketing team. Her departure comes as the company says it wants to “better align with our customers.” As such, it will streamline its marketing teams “under one cohesive function.”
