NerdWallet CMO Leaving Firm, Responsibilities Split Among Leadership

NerdWallet said Kelly Gillease, its Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), will be stepping down from her role on October 1, 2022.

nerdwalletShe will serve as a consultant to NerdWallet to assist in the transition following her departure. Gillease said she is looking forward to her next challenge after four years at NerdWallet, but did not provide details.

Once Gillease leaves, Brand Marketing, Communications, and Organic Marketing will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Tim Chen. Meanwhile, Customer Relationship Marketing (CRM) and Performance Marketing will be split between Chief Product Officer John Caine, and Chief Business Officer Kevin Yuann.

The firm says this organizational structure is intended to enable NerdWallet to “continue building consumer awareness and trust in its brand while tightening alignment between marketing activities and key products and initiatives.”
