Indians with $300B in Spending Power Want Ads in Regional Languages

A new report shows 230 million Indian internet users, with $300 billion in annual spending power, prefer consuming their online content in Indian languages. So reports Your Story.

The report, ‘Vernacular is NOW, Not the Future’, was compiled by consulting firm RedSeer. Data also indicates that while some startup companies are shifting away from English into regional tongues, there may be value in using English for ads in larger, more diverse, metro markets.
