YouTube Generated $15B in Ad Revenue in 2019

For the first time, Alphabet has revealed how much revenue it is pulling in from ads displayed on its YouTube platform. So reports Gizmodo.

youtube 2433301 640 smallIn a filing with the Security Exchange Commission, Alphabet says it made at least $15.15 billion in ad revenue for 2019. Alphabet has been resistant to disclose its revenue figures for both Google and YouTube. This revelation was brought about by a new rule implemented in 2017, which requires investors to receive the same financial results as the chief decision-maker at the company. 

Google CEO Sundar Pichai and Chief Financial Officer Ruth Porat rationalized the disclosure as a way “to provide insight into our business.”
