Visual commerce is often overlooked by marketers. But, it shouldn’t be. That’s according to MarTech Today.

It can be as easy as helping customers identify the right size and material for a black cocktail dress or as sophisticated as “using a digital platform to sell a car, where you can experiment with different colors, interiors, seating material and even digitally place the car in your driveway to see if it clashes with the color of your house,” according to the article.

The three steps of visualization are seeing the product, changing options and viewing the item in an augmented reality. Atlatl Software, a visual commerce platform, said that visual commerce is important because 93% of human communication is visual. The firm notes that humans process images or visuals 60,000 times faster than other types of communication.
