Australian Regulators Target Opioid Company for Misleading Claims

An Australian drug regulator has fined “an international network of companies tied to Purdue Pharma” for misleading advertising of the opioid painkiller Targin. So reports MSN.

medication 4389754 1280The Therapeutic Goods Administration fined Mundipharma AU$302,400 while also serving it 24 infringement notices. The claims in question dealt with the drug’s effectiveness managing chronic non-cancer pain. The company has since removed the flagged language.
