Starbucks, Unilever Verizon, and Ford are among the companies that have boycotted the social media outlet because of its stance on hate speech, misinformation, and other content. Facebook has more than $70 billion in annual advertising revenue, generated from over eight million advertisers.
However, Disney’s cutback is particularly worrisome to the social media platform because Disney is the leading advertiser on their platform, according to Pathmatics Inc.
